Purpose and mission

Information technology professionals spend an exorbitant amount of time on technical skills and abilities but often ignore broader skills like strategic thinking/execution, leadership development, leading teams, talent management, and financial leadership.

The purpose of this group is to provide a forum for AITP members to discuss these leadership topics, learn best practices in IT management, and engage with IT leaders across multiple industries.

Our mission is simple: To equip and engage with professionals for strategic leadership development.

What a typical meeting may look like

In order to achieve our mission to equip and engage with professionals, our sessions will vary by approach and topic. At times, we will bring in C-suite leaders for best-practice sharing and leadership lessons. We will discover and learn leadership tools that are effective. There will be article/book discussions to understand what the authors are saying and how it applies to information technology leadership. References will include tools and learning from organizations like Gartner, Accenture, Deloitte, Blue Ocean Strategy @ INSEAD, and many Fortune 500 corporate leaders.

When and where

The IT Leadership Group (ITLG) will meet monthly at Evangel University. Day and time will be communicated in November for the first session in January 2018.
