Corporate Student Mentorship Program

Imagine you are a first generation college student about to embark on your first professional job search. Where do you begin? Who do you turn to for advice and assistance?

The AITP Mentor Program will connect student members to professional members. The aim is to help students develop professional skills through observation and mentoring and for students to gain exposure to professional career paths. Activities with mentors include company tours, career goals discussions, resume and job search consultations and could even include attending civic and community events. In developing a relationship with a trusted professional and business leader, students can get career guidance and also develop valuable networking connections.

Students and professionals will be paired up by early October and will work together through the following May.

Professional members are welcome to mentor more than one student, but we recommend working with no more than two students per year.

Professional members should be prepared to cover the cost of a meal for the student at professional meetings, if the student is able to attend.

We recommend the Professional chapter officers mentor student chapter officers.

This program is open to all professional members of AITP Southwest Missouri.
